My Thoughts On The Movie “Facing The Giants”…

Now, I haven’t had a chance to watch this movie, YET. I have checked everywhere and it is NO WHERE to be found. Can you imagine this? Well “Facing the Giants” is all about facing adversity. Now I think you know a lot of people who are facing adversity in this bad economic downfall but in reality they are “Facing The Giants”. I am really excited about being able to one day watch this movie. I have had so many people tell me that I have to get it. After trying to rent the movie with no success I even went to Wal-Mart, they didn’t have it either. I was shocked beyond belief.

Well, I would like to persuade you to try and find it if you know anyone who is facing challenges in their life. It might shed some light on what you can do to help them and what they are going through.

That’s what I want to discuss today… the subject of having a scarcity mindset.

Do you realize the affect it can have on your personal life and your financial life?

A scarcity mindset can cause us to feel we are not worthy of having more than enough in our lives.

Having a scarcity mindset can be extremely harmful to our thought life. It can turn our life upside down.

You will become a victim if you aren’t careful and you don’t need to be.

As I was having my devotions this morning the readings spoke to my heart. It finally hit me that we have no other chance for life. We only have one. When that thought finally sunk in I knew I couldn’t go through the day without sharing it with others.

Do You Like Yourself?

Do You Like Yourself?

No matter how bad you look at yourself you are beautiful. No matter what problems you are facing today don’t try to fix it all at once. Have you heard the phrase…One Day At A Time. Rome was not built in a day. Deal with the issues 1 at a time. If you don’t like your weight, if you have a crisis that you are dealing with or maybe you had an argument with a close friend or family member, it doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you.

Slow down, pressure makes you feel even worse. It’s important to except your faults and admit you have flaws but bad things happen to good people. Your life may look like it’s in shambles but it doesn’t mean you are not a worthy person.
Do you like yourself the way you are?

I have gone through some tremendous trials over a period of years and I have to admit there are times when I think I failed and there was something wrong with me BUT I knew I could not stay in that state very long. Be patient with yourself.

Do You Like Yourself?

We are all on a spiritual path of self-improvement. It we take small steps it will move you closer to good health and a good self esteem. Don’t think you will wake up one morning and something magic will happen. Life is a journey, NOT a destination. We will all go through tough times and we may not like our self all the time but is usually passes. Maybe not in all cases. I know when the sun is out my problems don’t seem as big and I feel good about myself but on a gloomy day, well I don’t have to tell you. I am sure you know. How do you like yourself on a gloomy day…a sunny day?

Lower your expectations. Give yourself a little room to make mistakes. We are all human beings and we are not perfect.

Be gentle. Accept yourself for who you are because God made you. He loves you whether you like yourself or not.

Don’t try to do everything in one day. Deal with the most important issue first then keep moving down. When your self esteem is low everything looks bad. It feels like your whole life is falling apart. Figure out in what order each issue needs to be addressed. This alone will make you feel better. You will have a little more control.

Do you like yourself the way you are today?

Every morning you wake up, remember it’s a fresh day. Learn to love yourself no matter what you are facing today.

Are You A Slow Learner When Dealing With Something Different?

Join the club! Yes, we really need to form a club or a support group for slow learners. HA! My brain moves in slow motion.

It takes me forever to learn things, well at least that is the way it feels sometimes.

Let’s see, what we can do to get over this hump? The first thing to remember is to NEVER GIVE UP.

“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” Harriet Beecher Stowe

Second thing to remember is to acknowledge it to yourself. Don’t pretend! It will only hold you back. Keep going and don’t let it stop you. So you don’t understand as quickly as some do. Nothing wrong with us. Everyone is made different

I just joined a nutritional company called Visalus Sciences. I am a slow learner when it comes to my health. I have been on every diet out there and always felt great and I looked great, but it never lasts.

I had to STOP because this was really getting me down. I decided that slow learning can’t be all bad. After all the little tortoise won the race, right? So I’m slow learning. If I don’t give up and keep on plugging along I will end up a winner because I finished the race. It just has to be explained to me a few more times than others. No Big Deal!

I just got my Visalus 90-day challenge kit today and when I opened it I thought, “Oh, here we go again”. Will I be able to pick this all up? I decided that if we just take things One Day At A Time or one minute at a time we can make it. What do you think? Give me some feedback. Tell me what your thoughts are.

I want to hear from you. This blog is to help others and the only way to do it is to hear from you about what you are thinking. You are important! I am finally learning that there is absolutely nothing wrong with us because we are slow picking up on things. Once we get it, it will stick!

Life is moving so fast today that we are overwhelmed. There is so much information coming at us at such a tremendous speed that it just floors us. At least it does me. I finally figure it out and I feel really good, but at my age of 63, learning all this new stuff is pretty overwhelming to me. But I won’t give up.

Are you slow learning new things? Being a family caregiver I think has something to do with it too. We are so overwhelmed at taking care of our aging parent that we forget about our selves and then when we do we have guilt and all of this mixed together, it’s no wonder that it takes us a little longer for us to pick up new ways of doing things.
